Sara Sibley, CPA CFE
Supervisor of Special Investigations
Sara Sibley is SSC, Inc.’s Supervisor of Special Investigations. She is highly experienced in investigations and risk assessments. Before joining SSC, she held a Senior Investigator position with American Express, Inc. At American Express, Sara Sibley was responsible for the planning and execution of all internal investigations received through various channels, i.e. Whistleblower hotlines, Ombudsperson’s Office, and internal complaints. During her time at American Express, Sara Sibley attended Reid Technique Interviewing and Interrogation Training. Prior to American Express, Sara Sibley served as a Senior Audit Consultant with Aetna, Inc. where she developed and executed a company-wide Fraud Risk Assessment Methodology that included fraud training and fraud risk assessment training. While at Aetna, Sara Sibley was responsible for assisting in internal investigations, conducting annual risk assessments, executing risk based audits and supported Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives. Sara Sibley’s resume includes a position as a Forensic Accountant with a regional forensic accounting firm. It was there that Sara gained knowledge of financial investigations and litigation support projects. As a Forensic Accountant, Sara participated in a highly publicized financial investigation performed at the request of the State of Connecticut Attorney General involving embezzlement of funds from a state-funded academic institution. Sara Sibley holds an MBA in Economic Crime and Fraud Management from Utica College of Syracuse, NY, a B.S. in Business Economics with Accounting Concentration from Albertus Magnus College, CT and has completed graduate level courses in Criminal Justice and Forensic Computer Investigations from the University of New Haven, CT. Sara Sibley is accredited as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with the State of Connecticut Board of Accountancy, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, a member of the International Association of Financial Crime Investigators (IAFCI) and is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). |
